Delete your account

Option 2 — email us

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address on the account. If you never registered an email and used the app anonymously, include your device ID instead (it is shown in the app under Settings → About).

We action deletion requests within 30 days of verifying the request came from the account holder.

What is deleted

• Your account record is closed and can no longer be signed into.
• Your stored password and any pending email-verification token are erased.
• The links between your account and every device you signed in on are removed.
• Conversations held only on your phone are destroyed when you delete the app, because they were never uploaded.

What is kept, and why

• Purchase records. Retained as long as required for tax, accounting, and refund-dispute purposes. They are no longer attached to a usable account.
• A closed-account marker. A minimal record that the account existed and when it was closed, kept so the same account cannot be silently re-opened and so we can answer questions about the deletion.
• Safety and abuse records. If your account was involved in a content report or a policy enforcement action, that record is retained for safety purposes.

To request erasure of the retained items as well — where the law gives you that right and no legal obligation requires us to keep them — email support@papiai.co and say so explicitly.
